Straight Answers From MCOR and 3M
Questions Drivers Ask Before Booking.
Why is MCOR's 3M Pro Shop status important?
3M identifies Pro Shop Dealers as its highest dealer tier. Pro Shops offer multiple 3M product lines, a premium full-service experience, dealer-supported displays and demonstrations, and access to premium 3M products such as Crystalline.
Is dark factory privacy glass the same as window tint?
No. Privacy glass is darkened glass, not an aftermarket film. Its solar and UV performance varies by vehicle. Adding a specified 3M film gives you known film performance and lets MCOR build a more consistent solar-control package around the full cabin.
Is tinting only the two front windows enough?
It can be enough if your goal is mainly a closer color match. If your goal is Florida heat rejection, UV reduction and broader interior protection, treating only two windows leaves the rear cabin dependent on the original privacy glass. Ask to compare a full-vehicle package.
Can a lighter film reject more heat than a darker film?
Yes. Darkness and heat rejection are not the same thing. Advanced films such as 3M Crystalline use multilayer optical technology to provide exceptional heat performance without requiring the darkest appearance.
How does 3M Automotive Window Film reduce solar heat?
3M films reduce solar heat transmission by increasing solar reflection and absorption through the glass. The exact balance depends on the film technology and shade.
Will 3M window film completely stop interior fading?
No product completely stops fading. 3M film helps reduce major contributors—including UV light, visible light and solar heat—which can help extend the life of interior materials.
Will 3M film interfere with phones, GPS or satellite radio?
The Obsidian, Color Stable, Ceramic IR and Crystalline choices presented here use nonmetalized technologies designed to avoid interference with mobile devices, GPS, satellite radio and modern connected devices.
How do I make a 3M warranty claim?
Contact MCOR Automotive first. If you are no longer local, 3M's current support process directs U.S. and Canadian owners to call 1-866-499-8857. Keep the completed warranty card and original invoice because both are required for warranty service.
